Back in 2008, musician/entrepreneur Pharrell Williams collaborated with furniture designer Domeau & Pérès to create the “Perspective” series said to be inspired by the love between a man and a woman.
Next up in the series is The Tank chair, premiering at the Emmanuel Perriton Gallery during Art Basel Miami. The Tank chair will arrive in four colorways and is made of plexiglass and full grain colt leather.
I really love seeing creative people like Pharrell contributing to multiple creative industries. It proves that their talent exceeds far beyone just one medium.
The image you see above is the first piece I ever found by David Choe. I don't even remember where I found it, I just remember taping it to my bedroom wall in Italy as inspiration to do more line drawings.
For any of you fine people who may not know David Choe, this video is an introduction brought to you by Upper Playground. Choe is by far one of my absolute favorite artists. His grafitti is self proclaimed as "bathroom grafitti" but his outline style drawings resemble those of –pardon the cliche– Picasso's line art. He's a very expressive and talented painter of all mediums.
If you like what you see, and Wooster Collective posted another video that dives a little deeper into Choe's personal experience in Tokyo that has made him the artist he is today. You can watch that video here.
Artists of SoHo : 624713 exists as a loose knit network of creative and intellectual thinkers who support the effort of producing a multitude of beautiful art works for everyone and anyone to own. We are coming up out of New York City; and in spare time we enjoy reading literature, sight seeing and exploring interventionist discourse.

Check out more deliciousness at the NEW HIGH (M)ART, a shop operating with the same business model and calendar as a gallery, NH(M) presented consecutive rotating 'here-today-gone-tomorrow' shopping opportunities.
About a year ago, we started to notice that the drab drain pipes and scaffolding poles were coming to life with vibrant, energizing colorful wraps. These are the work of Martin Soby, an artist whose studio in NoHo is near many of the places he has brought to life. We believe that these small acts of creativity make New York a special city. Passersby know the city is alive and that the human element prevails—even in a construction zone.
A great photo series by Miranda July for Vice Magaine. My initial reaction was "oh, this is has Cindy Sherman written all over it." But the more I thought about it, I realized its quite the opposite. Cindy Sherman would set up her photos to reproduce the film stills, often placing herself as the lead role amongst her elaborate set. Here, Miranda July is extracting the characters that would ordinarily go unnoticed in the background and recreating their existence in her isolated portraits. Larger images after the jump »
The Jacobs by Marc Jacobs collection unveils a series of skate decks this season. In a non-traditional foray outside of their usual offerings, each deck features 7-ply Canadian maple and comes pre-gripped with clear grip tape. The $89 USD decks are available now at all Marc by Marc Jacobs flagship stores with a limited fun of 100 pieces per graphic. via hypebeast
I'm going to try and stop in at the Mercer store tomorrow to see what other deck graphics they may have on display. . .
halo is a handy light-writing tool, preserving the techniques and gestures that graffiti artists use with spray cans. It is possible to change the color and the brightness of the led to change the graffiti’s styles. If the light doesn’t have enough battery, users simply have to shake it to have energy again.
Just the inspiration I was in need of, Wooster Collective just posted some lost footage of Picasso painting. I'm including Painting as one of my must-dos doing my "staycation" in BK this month. . . there's alot of things on that list right now, and one of them might just be a PRIMAMAG facelift.
