Back in 2008, musician/entrepreneur Pharrell Williams collaborated with furniture designer Domeau & Pérès to create the “Perspective” series said to be inspired by the love between a man and a woman.
Next up in the series is The Tank chair, premiering at the Emmanuel Perriton Gallery during Art Basel Miami. The Tank chair will arrive in four colorways and is made of plexiglass and full grain colt leather.
I really love seeing creative people like Pharrell contributing to multiple creative industries. It proves that their talent exceeds far beyone just one medium.
Blakroc is an upcoming rap rock collaboration album by The Black Keys and several hip hop and R&B artists. The project has been overseen by Damon Dash, co-founder and formerly owner of a share in Roc-A-Fella Records. Its contributors will be Raekwon, RZA and the late Ol' Dirty Bastard of the Wu-Tang Clan; Jim Jones, formerly of The Diplomats, and NOE, formerly a DipSet affiliate; Mos Def; singer Nicole Wray; Pharoahe Monch; Southern rapper Ludacris; Billy Danze, one half of M.O.P.; and Q-Tip, formerly of A Tribe Called Quest
The image you see above is the first piece I ever found by David Choe. I don't even remember where I found it, I just remember taping it to my bedroom wall in Italy as inspiration to do more line drawings.
For any of you fine people who may not know David Choe, this video is an introduction brought to you by Upper Playground. Choe is by far one of my absolute favorite artists. His grafitti is self proclaimed as "bathroom grafitti" but his outline style drawings resemble those of –pardon the cliche– Picasso's line art. He's a very expressive and talented painter of all mediums.
If you like what you see, and Wooster Collective posted another video that dives a little deeper into Choe's personal experience in Tokyo that has made him the artist he is today. You can watch that video here.
We at PrimaMag are excited to announce a new series of posts dedicated to helping you with your holiday shopping.
Our first installment of this series is for the always-hard-to-buy-for man in your life, which could include your best friend, brother, father, cousin, uncle, boyfriend, fiance or husband.
A quality weekend bag can be appreciated by any of the aforementioned men. Now that travel costs are on the rise again, these bags are ideal for carry-ons to avoid that $15 - $25 dollar checked bag charge. We've listed a series of respectably handsome bags here ranging from $95 - $470, a little something for all holiday budgets.
So not only are you helping him look good, but you're encouraging him to travel well. What would he do with out you?
From the good people at Photojojo!. . . yes, those same great people who brought you the Fuji Instax Instant Camera. And now, next on the radar from this amazing group is the Dreamy Diana Diana Lens.
For only $60, this lense will transform your beloved Nikon or Canon DSLR into a digital toy camera. I'm excited to try this product, see what kind of interesting New York City shots I can get!
I stopped at WOOL AND THE GANG tonight, and yes, I learned how to knit. . . amazing. Its not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. Crazy to think I was crocheting on the way to the shop, and then switched over to knitting while there. I haven't started any formal knitting projects yet. I think it'll take more time for me to freestyle executions as clearly as I can with crocheting.
I would like to put another shout out to the lovely people at Wool and The Gang. Tonight, Isabelle was a wonderfully patient instructor. If you're in the area, definitely stop by. I can't wait to go back next Sunday.
My dear friend C and I were finally able to stop at WOOL AND THE GANG new storefront, located only a few blocks down from work. The girl working was so genuinely sweet, I was virtually spellbound when she suggested we come back on Sunday for a Free Knitting Workshop, they have them everyday! For anyone who knows me, I've been crocheting since my Nana first taught me a long time ago, so to break the mentality of using only one needle will be difficult. . .but I'm willing to give it a try. And if for some reason I just can't do it, I'll just bring a crochet needle and buy some of their wool.
For anyone living or visiting the NYC area, you must stop by at 98 Thompson Street if not to buy quality wool products (they have amazing knit kits), then at least to say hello to the lovely people that work there.
